In discussing our spiritual state at Penn Hill, we recognize that as a group we are willing to listen, reach out and recognize the spirit in each as the essence of that person. The meeting grows through nurturing all who come to worship with us. We are receptive to all and try to include all in our activities. We remember with fondness those who have gone before us and how their faith helped us grow.
Our First Day School discussions help us share honest feelings as we accept that we are at different levels in our spiritual journey. We stay connected in the many topics we choose to explore. But hope is where we focus on improvement, despite the challenges and troubles often discussed.
We are aware that we are a monthly meeting that includes Eastland Preparative Meeting, which has recently gained a new member, who is a good worker. Between her and a Friend for life we were able to start Quaker Quest that included all of Nottingham Quarter. Our two presenters from Arkansas and Indiana were impressed with the quality of the discussions held. At this writing we are not sure what our next step will be.
We recognize that we should be more involved in our local community and are reminded from 6 Galatians that the spirit is manifested when the Holy Spirit helps us with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. The guiding spirit will keep us aware of hope as we quietly go about our social actions and interactions.
